The results of Gujarat’s 6 Municipal Corporations elections are to be announced today. Counting of votes will be conducted in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Bhavnagar corporations. The turnout averaged 46.08 percent. The results of 575 seats of 144 wards will be declared. It recorded an average turnout of 66 percent.
After low turnout in 6 Municipal Corporations of the state, counting of votes has started from 8 pm in which first ballot paper and later EVM will open. Voting for the Municipal Corporations election took place on 21 February. Counting arrangements have also changed this time around due to the Corona epidemic. For the first time due to Corona, candidates and their agents have been given time to enter the counting center to avoid crowds.
